Theft
Between 10.30pm on 30 June and 7.30am on 1 July a shed within a garden of a house at West Loch was entered and some items stolen.

Between 8.30pm on 30 June and 8 am on 1 July a blue Isuzu Trooper was stolen from outside an address at Celtic View, Tarbert. The vehicle was subsequently found abandoned in the Kippen area on 3 July. Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicle being driven in the Mid Argyll area to contact them on telephone number 101.

Sub Standard Power Saws
At 1pm on 3 July officers stopped a van in Lorne Street, Lochgilphead. The two male occupants were found to have no Pedlars Certificate and in the rear of the van were a number of power saws. The saws were subsequently checked by Trading Standard officers and found to be of sub standard. Police are warning members of the public to request for proof of a Pedlars certificate and ensure that any product they purchase is checked and found to be in good working order.

Bank Fraud Scam
Police Scotland recently received a report in which an elderly female from the Tarbert area was duped by a Bank scam into transferring a large sum of money to another illegitimate account.

The scam involves a person purporting to be from the Bank in which the person called holds an account. They are then informed that there is a technical problem with their account and they require transferring all their money to an account identified by the caller. Once the fault is cleared all their money will be transferred back into their account. The money is never returned.

Police advise that should anyone receive a suspicious call from a Bank then they should contact their Bank directly using telephone numbers supplied by the Bank and not a number supplied by the caller as the number may be part of the same Scam.

Serious Road Crash
At 3.35pm on 4 July a serious road crash involving a single vehicle occurred on the A83 near to Achnatra, Inveraray. The driver of the VW Polo appears to have lost control of his vehicle before leaving the carriageway and collided with trees. The 21 yr old driver was removed by Helimed to a hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries. His condition is described as stable.

Disturbance
At 1.15am on 5 July Police received a report of a male causing a disturbance within a close at Lochnell Street, Lochgilphead. A 48 yr old male was subsequently arrested for a Breach of the Peace and Vandalism and was detained in custody pending his appearance at court.

If any member of the public has information in relation to the above, or to any incident, they can contact their local police office on telephone number 101, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
